Positive Direction for Youth & Families, Inc. is proud to offer the PDY&F Internship Program for college students, youth & adults. This program is designed to provide persons from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to give back and/or work in a professional position while building the career they would like to pursue upon graduation. The program has three primary components: hands-on work experience, educational and social awareness, and community service. The program also includes lecture series’, social and community service events, and culminates in a final project to help guide participants beyond their PDY&F experience. Internships are approximately three months in length, but can be up to one year in some instances.

Camp Sync is a program designed for youth, grades 6 through 8 who are interested in learning about entrepreneurship as a viable career option. Camp Sync’s core activities are based upon NC REAL Action Learning. Our goals at Camp Sync are to…

  • develop leadership abilities and skills.
  • learn and apply memorable strategies to manage personal finances such as budgeting,
  • banking, and credit.
  • generate business ideas and create marketing plans
  • meet and learn from successful young entrepreneurs.
  • explore how technology can be used in small businesses.

Camp Sync session dates are May 6th, May 20th, June 3rd, and June 17th. The fee is only $30 per child. Sign up for all sessions to receive a $20 discount.

Upward Sports

Positive Direction for Youth & Families has joined forces with Upward Sports, the Nation’s leading sports league for kids, to provide a positive outlet for today’s youth, grades 1 to 5 with a focus on basketball and cheerleading. Through this exciting partnership, we create a fun sports experience based on healthy competition. We use the universal language of sports to connect with kids at a critical age and help them discover and build athletic skills, values, self-confidence and a life-long love of the game.
